Who does what
Managers use Leaves: Applications, Leaves Remaining, and Unpaid Leaves. Employees use the same three names under Self, then Leaves. Pending applications show a count on the Manager menu.
The leave year starts from Leaves Start Month on each location’s attendance rules. Holidays that sit inside a leave request come from the calendar. A written policy for your company is a separate job; the leave policy guide is a starting point for India, and the product page is leave management software.
Leave types
Settings, then Leave Types, then New. The form is Create Leave Type.
- Name, Gender (Male, Female, Other, or All), and Status (Enabled or Disabled).
- Count Type — Same for All, or Employee Specific — and Total Count.
- Max Leaves per Month and Max Consecutive Leaves per Month.
- Allowed in Probation and Allowed in Notice Period.
- Allow Half Day and Allow Intervening Holidays.
- Over Utilization — Paid, Unpaid, or another leave type (then pick Over Utilization Leave Type).
- Unused Leaves — Carry Forward, Lapse, or Paid.
Create saves it. Edit changes one later. There is also a count screen on a leave type when the balance is employee-specific.
Apply
Self, then Leaves, then Applications, then Apply. Edit or delete the request while it is still pending. Managers can Add an application for someone from the same screen on the Manager menu.
Approve or reject
- Leaves, then Applications. If anything is waiting, the menu link includes the pending list.
- Open the request. Accept asks you to continue. If the request would become unpaid, SnapHRM says so before you confirm.
- Reject asks for a Reject Reason.
Edit and Delete are on the same row if you need to correct the application instead of approving it.
Balances and unpaid leave
Leaves Remaining is the balance list. Unpaid Leaves is the list of leave that was not covered by a paid balance. Employees see their own rows of both. Payroll picks up unpaid leave when you run the month.
