What you need
Biometric attendance is the device side of attendance. Punches land in SnapHRM, then the Attendance menu is where you read the day. You need permission to manage biometric devices.
The menu has four screens: Biometric Devices, Biometric Employee Mapping, Biometric Attendance Logs, and Biometric Commands.
Add a device
- Open Biometric Devices and choose Add Biometric Device. The form is Create Biometric Device.
- The list then shows Device Name, Serial Number, Device IP, Last Online, and Status: Online, Offline, or Pending.
- Use Refresh if a device has just come online. Delete removes one you no longer use.
- The page includes a Device Configuration Guide for the network steps on the device itself.
Push Employees to Devices sends the current people to every device. Confirm Sync All Employees before it runs.
Map employees
Open Biometric Employee Mapping. Filter Active Employees, Inactive Employees, or All Employees.
- Set each person’s Biometric User ID so it matches the ID stored on the device.
- Choose how they may clock in: Biometric Only or All Methods.
- Submit saves the row.
Send All to Device pushes the people in the current list. Refresh Employees reloads the list from the company.
Logs and commands
Biometric Attendance Logs lists Employee, Punch Time, and Device. The notice on that screen links you to the Attendance menu, which is where the punch becomes the day’s attendance.
Biometric Commands lists what was sent to a device: Employee, Device, Type, Status, and Date (created, sent, executed, or failed). The screen says records older than one month are deleted.
